You may have been reading over the last few weeks regarding the amendment to the Montreal Protocol and the environmental benefits this has for the earth moving forward. 

We have definitely been tuned to staying abreast of the news that has come out of Rwanda and how the market has been reacting. Here at Heuch, we believe that the reduction in use of the hydroflurocarbons (HFC) gases was inevitable. Especially considering that they can be 10,000 times more powerful than carbon dioxide as greenhouse gases.

'Half a degree avoided': Breakthrough in talks to limit global warming

Nearly 200 nations hammered out a legally binding deal to cut back on greenhouse gases used in refrigerators and air conditioners, a Rwandan minister announced to loud cheers on Saturday, in a major step against climate change. 

The deal, which includes the world's two biggest economies, the United States and China, divides countries into three groups with different deadlines to reduce the use of factory-made hydroflurocarbon (HFC) gases, which can be 10,000 times more powerful than carbon dioxide as greenhouse gases.

Innovator of The Year Award Winner.

Meet Steve Oakley, the managing director of Heuch Refrigeration and winner of the 2016 Innovator of the Year Award.

Oakley recently commenced commercialisation of the world's first 100 per cent solar powered refrigeration containers, a project that was central to winning this year's award.

Oakley first began the project in 2005.

“The time wasn't quite right then. The project worked technically but it wasn't commercially viable,” Oakley said. 

“Now its the right time, the right people, the right product and a bit of luck.

Common refrigeration defrost management - for small to medium systems.

All cool rooms and freezers use evaporators or coolers to help regulate temperature inside the room. 

When people and equipment enter and exit a room they let varying amounts of ambient air into the space which needs to be brought back down to the regulated temperature. This air generally contains a significantly higher level of water vapour than the room. The water vapour or moisture in the air is naturally drawn to the coldest element in the room which just happens to be the fin and tube surfaces within the evaporator.
